FAQs
Great Blue Dental
Do you take my insurance?
At Great Blue Dental, we collaborate with numerous insurance providers to help you maximize your yearly benefits. We're happy to perform a complimentary benefits check during your visit to determine your coverage. Please note that certain plans, including state insurance through Badgercare/ForwardHealth, Medicaid, and Medicare, don't cover services with our dentists. We encourage you to contact us to schedule an appointment and learn more about your insurance options. Why do you recommend sealants on adults?
At Great Blue Dental, we often suggest sealants for any tooth that could benefit from this preventive measure. Our goal is to protect vulnerable teeth from developing cavities and needing fillings in the future. Each tooth is unique, so we'll work with you to identify which of your teeth might benefit from sealants. It's important to understand that we approach tooth protection the same way for both children and adults. Our dentists aim to prevent decay in all teeth, regardless of age.Why would my dental hygienist recommend fluoride to me?
Fluoride varnish application is similar to sealants in that it creates a protective barrier on your teeth, helping to strengthen them between regular dental visits. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that has been clinically proven to aid in cavity prevention. It's a safe and effective treatment. If you have any additional questions about fluoride treatments, our dentists are always available to provide more information. When should my child's first dental appointment be?
In line with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's guidelines, we recommend scheduling your child's first dental visit within six months of their first tooth appearing, or by their first birthday at the latest. Following this initial visit, we advise maintaining a good home care routine and bringing your child in for dental exams and cleanings every six months. We strive to be a family dentist you can rely on, so please don't hesitate to contact us to schedule an appointment. Are dental x-rays necessary for me to have a cleaning?
At Great Blue Dental, we maintain high standards of care in compliance with state laws. X-rays are essential for proper diagnosis of all patients. If you're new to our practice, you're welcome to have recent images transferred from your previous dentist by sending them to office@greatbluedental.com before your first visit. We'll inform you if additional images are needed. These x-rays are crucial for accurate treatment, diagnosis, and planning, enabling our dentists to provide you with the highest quality care.Do you offer a cash, senior, or military discount?
